Friends and family among mourners at Amy Winehouse funeral

London (CNN) -- Record producer Mark Ronson, who worked with Amy Winehouse on her Grammy-winning album "Back to Black," was among the mourners arriving Tuesday at the singer's funeral, according to CNN affiliate ITV.

But the singer's ex-husband, Blake Fielder-Civil, was not released from prison to attend the memorial, a source familiar with the situation said. He is serving a 32-month sentence for burglary and possession of an imitation firearm, according to media reports.

Sparse details are being released about the ceremony -- including exactly when and where it will occur -- though Winehouse spokesman Chris Goodman said "it will be a small, private event for a few friends and family."

Investigators might not know what killed Winehouse until they get results from lab tests on her blood and tissue, due in two to four weeks, according to London's Metropolitan Police, also known as Scotland Yard.

An autopsy was completed at St. Pancras Mortuary on Monday afternoon, two days after the singer was found dead in her London apartment.

"It did not establish a formal cause of death and we await the results of further toxicology tests," a police statement said.

An inquest into her death was opened Monday, the statement said.

"Inquiries continue into the circumstances of the death," Scotland Yard said in a statement Sunday. At this stage, the death of 27 year old "is being treated as unexplained and there have been no arrests in connection with the incident," police said.

The singer, beloved for her talent but infamous for erratic public behavior, arrests and drug problems, was found dead Saturday.

Winehouse's family said in a statement Sunday it "has been left bereft by the loss of Amy, a wonderful daughter, sister, niece. She leaves a gaping hole in our lives. We are coming together to remember her and we would appreciate some privacy and space at this terrible time."

"We are trying to come to terms with the death of a dear friend and colleague, the most amazing artist and talent," her management company, Metropolis Music, said Sunday. "We will always remember Amy as a vibrant, funny, caring young woman who made everyone around her feel welcome. We have lost a very special person, part of our family."

Winehouse's soulful, throaty vocals brought the British musician stardom in 2007, but her troubled off-stage life -- chronicled in her Top 10 hit "Rehab" -- won her notoriety. Her death came less than two months after her latest release from a rehabilitation program and weeks after she was booed offstage by disappointed fans in Belgrade, Serbia.

Winehouse died at the same age as at least four other music legends. Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin and Jim Morrison each died of drug overdoses when they were 27. Kurt Cobain was 27 when he committed suicide, soon after his release from rehab.

Police were called to Winehouse's Camden Square apartment just after 4 p.m. Saturday in response to a report of "a woman found deceased," authorities said.

"Everyone who is involved with Amy is shocked and devastated," Goodman said. "Our thoughts are with her family and friends."

Winehouse's official website carried nothing but a black-and-white photo of the singer.

Her song "Rehab," in which she sang "They tried to make me go to rehab, I said no, no, no," helped form the public's view of Winehouse. She told CNN in a 2007 interview, "I don't care enough about what people think of me to conform to anything."

The London-born singer was a tattooed teenage rebel after she was expelled from a prestigious performing arts school. Her first album, "Frank," debuted in 2003, when the singer-songwriter was 19.

International success came with her 2007 album "Back to Black." She dominated the 2008 Grammys, winning five awards that night and delivering, via satellite from London, a strong performance of "Rehab."

Winehouse's volatile marriage to Blake Fielder-Civil took a toll on the singer's career. The couple divorced in 2009 after a stormy two years filled by drug addiction and arrests.

Winehouse's parents went public with their efforts to help their daughter, telling the London Telegraph in 2009 that she was on the road to recovery.

"A gradual recovery, which is good," Winehouse's father told the Telegraph. "With slight backward steps -- not drug backward steps, more drink backward steps if you follow my drift. I think that will be the pattern of recovery."

The organization that awards the Grammys issued a statement Saturday calling Winehouse "a dynamic performer and musician who seamlessly blended rock, jazz, pop, and soul and created a sound all her own."

"Her rich, soulful and unique voice reflected her honest songwriting and earned her a devoted fan following, critical acclaim, and the genuine respect and admiration of her musical peers," the Recording Academy statement said. "She will forever be remembered for her immense talent, and her music will live on for generations to come. Our deepest sympathies go out to her family, friends, and fans during this difficult time."

Amy Winehouse Died in Bed with No Sign of Drugs Nearby

Amy Winehouse may have been dead for up to six hours before a security guard found her body in bed at around 4 p.m. London time on Saturday.

The five-time Grammy winner last spoke to her security team at 10 a.m. Saturday, telling them she was going to sleep. Rigor mortis had set in by the time she was found, suggesting she had been dead for several hours.

Sources tell Britain'sSun newspaper that Winehouse, 27, had seen a doctor Friday night as part of a routine series of regular checkups, given her battle with addiction. The doctor saw nothing amiss.

Winehouse had been strong enough that same night to play a drum kit in her bedroom – so loud that neighbors complained.

Cause of death is not yet known; a toxicology report could take weeks to complete.

A police source tells PEOPLE there was no paraphernalia or sign of drugs in Winehouse's Camden home, which became the scene of makeshift memorials following news of the troubled singer's death.

Her father Mitch made an appearance at the Camden house Monday to thank fans who had built the tribute to his daughter in flowers and memorabilia. He said the family was "devastated and speechless."

"I can't tell you what this means to us. It really is making this a lot easier for us," he said of the tributes.

"Amy was about one thing, and that was love. Her whole life was devoted to her family and her friends, and to you guys as well," he told fans gathered in Camden Square.

Winehouse's friend and PR man Chris Goodman tells the Sun that she had suffered setbacks in recent weeks in her battle against addiction.

"She was on the mend but she lapsed over the past month," he said. "Her death has come as a great shock. She was a fantastic talent and a sweet girl."

Amy Winehouse has been working on her follow up to the 2004, 5 time Grammy winning Black to Black. She has been recording the new album in the Caribbean and in the UK.

When asked about the whereabouts of her new album, she said, "The album will be six months at the most, it's going to be very much the same as my second album, where there's a lot of jukebox stuff... I just can't wait to have some new songs [to perform] on stage."

Winehouse has been criticized for a recent performance where she forgot the words of the song. She has also been accused of performing under the influence during some live shows and televised appearance. But Winehouse explained, "Mark and I recorded two versions of Valerie," Winehouse later explained. "We released the one that came out like the Supremes but I play the other version with my band. When I got there I completely forgot it was his version we were singing so I was probably a bit out of sync."

Amy Winehouse has had some recent times, as we know, but now things have gone from bad to worse for the Valerie hit-maker. Reports claim that Amy’s ex-husband Blake Fielder Civil has apparently called off their second wedding.

The couple got divorced in July 2009 but the couple then reunited and Blake revealed earlier this year that they were planning to walk down the aisle one more time, but not anymore.

Some new photos were published a few days ago of Winehouse allegedly getting a bit too close with a neighbour in the garden of her London home.

A source told The Daily Star: "Blake had his suspicions about the neighbour so when the pictures emerged of them together he confronted her. He's now in absolute bits. He thought that this time it was going to be forever but now he's convinced himself that she's up to no good and he's moved back up to Sheffield.”

They added: "They had a massive row before he left and she did little to reassure him that their relationship would be okay. He was due to move into her new house and they were serious about having a baby. Amy's been ringing him but he's stopped answering. He just can't get the image of her cheating out of his head."

Then, according to Waterhouse, she claimed they might be related because of their last names, Winehouse and Waterhouse.

Mrs. Waterhouse said she told her they could be and tried to be nice.

"I couldn't help asking her about the fact that she might have been probed by aliens", laughed Waterhouse. "I'm an old fart, you know that?"

Amy Winehouse's legal problems may have her banned in the USA right now, so what's a gal to do?

Head for the Caribbean.

It was announced earlier today that Winehouse is going to headline the 18th Annual St. Lucia Jazz festival in May. She had to drop out of next month's Coachella music festival in the California desert because she's unable to obtain a work visa in time due to lingering assault charges she's facing in the U.K.

Sen. Allen Chastanet, St. Lucia's Minister of Tourism, tells me talks with Winehouse began during her recent two-month vacation on the small island nation.

"When she was in St. Lucia, it really was a positive influence on her," Chastanet tells me. "She had a really great time."

Winehouse will perform May 8 with KC and the Sunshine Band opening for her. About 6,000 people per night are expected to attend the festival, which runs from May 2 to 10. Others on the bill include Patti LaBelle, Chaka Khan, Chicago and Michael McDonald.

Winehouse will be put up at the new $100 million Tides Sugar Beach resort.

"She's welcome to stay as long as she wants to," Chastanet says. "We enjoy having her there. I wish we had recording facilities for her. I know she was trying very hard to record her album down there. That is something the government is working on down the road."

Chastanet insists he's confident Winehouse will honor her commitment. "What's very nice about the whole thing is we spoke to her and we spoke to her management and she really wants to do this to say thank-you to St. Lucia," he said. "I think this is something that she legitimately wants to do. So on that basis, I'm really not nervous."

Amy Winehouse has reportedly been released from the hospital after collapsing in the Caribbean.

According to the Indo-Asian News Service, the troubled British singer was taken to a medical facility on the island of St. Lucia after suddenly falling ill.

A rep for Winehouse says she collapsed after running out of medication she had been using in her ongoing battle against drugs.

Winehouse has been enjoying some r&r at the resort since December, following numerous health problems throughout 2008, which included a stint in rehab and several prolonged stays in hospital.

The FilmOn.com research saw the Back To Black singer named the most frightening female figure, with Michael Jackson the scariest male.

Other famous women in the top ten included Kerry Katona, Jodie Marsh and Sharon Osbourne, while Russell Brand, Pete Doherty and Ronnie Wood ranked among the men.

It’s been a while since Amy Winehouse’s erratic behavior has resulted in an aggressive attack, but it seems that the troubled singer has once again resorted to hitting anyone who has the misfortune of rubbing her the wrong way. While attending a recent charity ball, Amy Winehouse reportedly punched a female dancer in the eye.

According to The Sun, Sherene Flash (30), was punched by Winehouse after she asked the singer if she could take a picture with her. Amy Winehouse reportedly tore off after the hitting incident, shouting, “Life can’t go on. I can’t do this any more.”

After the incident, cops were called to the End Of Summer Ball in central London, where Amy Winehouse had performed to take a statement from Flash. Winehouse has not yet given a statement, but is expected to shortly.

A source speaking to The Sun explained, “Sherene asked Amy if she could take a photo. Amy was OK at first, but when Sherene asked if a friend could get in the shot, Amy lashed out.”
A source added, “She was getting distressed. There was a lot of grabbing and flashbulbs were going off. She was startled.” Anyone who can handle taking a photograph with one person but not with two, clearly seems like they’re in fine condition to be performing in front of an audience...

We feel kind of like a broken record, considering how many times this point has been made, but there always seems to be a larger issue than the one at hand in these recent Amy Winehouse stories. Rather than letting these erratic instances pile up, wouldn’t it be better for people to stop hiring Winehouse to perform until she gets help? You have to wonder how many people have to get punched/how many substances have to be inhaled before somebody somewhere will step up and say enough is enough.

A joke which mocks Amy Winehouse's troubles has been voted the funniest joke at the 2008 Edinburgh Fringe festival.

Zoe Lyons' joke - “I can't believe Amy Winehouse self-harms. She's so irritating she must be able to find someone to do it for her.” - won a public vote.

The joke featured in the comedian's show, Mangled Mantra of the Messed-Up Modern Mind.

She said she was “delighted” to have won the award. “I know self-harming is not funny but it's just a joke, so I'm not going to beat myself up about it," she added.

Second place in the vote by TV channel Dave went to comedian Andrew Laurence, with his joke: "Most of us have a skeleton in the cupboard. David Beckham takes his out in public."

The Fringe festival, which celebrates art and culture, ends this weekend following a month of performances.

In Escape From Rehab, players use an assortment of weapons to break her out of a clinic.They also have to help husband Blake Fielder-Civil, 26, get out of jail.

The animated version of the singer, 24, knocks out people with her rock hard beehive and chucks booze.

'It's tongue-in-cheek but this is the last thing Amy needs at the moment,' a source tells the Daily Star.

The game is being used to promote the film Disaster Movie.

Fashion label Guess are about to launch their autumn and winter range with troubled British singer Amy Winehouse as the inspiration.

Thesun.co.uk reports that they have hired Australian model Nicole Trunfio for the campaign because of her likeness to the wayward singer. Trunfio will be seen with beehive hair, tiny shorts and headscarf.

But Winehouse right now seems to be at the lowest point of her life and is not the best role model. Her drug problems have made her irresponsible and it seems she is headed for self-destruction.

(CNN) -- There was a time when Amy Winehouse was as talked about for her talent as she was for her behavior.
Her first album, 2003's "Frank," earned rave reviews in her native Britain for her unique voice -- an instrument that featured touches of Billie Holiday, Dinah Washington and Ray Charles -- and clever songwriting, attributes that were enough to put the jazz-inflected album on the shortlist for the UK's prestigious Mercury Prize and win Winehouse a top British songwriting award.

Then, when her drinking and drug abuse first became topics of tabloid conversation, she turned the topic around with "Rehab," an autobiographical song that became the first hit off her second album, "Back to Black." "They tried to make me go to rehab," she sang, "I said no no no."
With producers Salaam Remi (who helmed "Frank") and Mark Ronson behind the boards, and crack soul band the Dap-Kings offering support, "Back to Black" zoomed up the charts and became her American breakthrough, becoming one of the hot titles of 2007. DJs remixed her songs; artists such as Prince and George Michael wanted to work with her.

Winehouse won five Grammys for her work in February, including honors for best new artist, song of the year and record of the year (both for "Rehab").

If Winehouse's deliberately off-the-rack look -- beehive hairdo, heavy eyeliner, haphazard clothes -- once made her seem boho and hip, her repeated appearances on the tabloid pages presented her as pathetic. If "Rehab" once seemed an amusing poke in the eye to her minders, it took on darker overtones as Winehouse was hospitalized for various ailments and actually did go to rehab, most recently in early 2008, in an attempt to kick her drug and alcohol addictions.

And that doesn't even address her other problems: her sometimes contentious relationship and marriage with the equally troubled Blake Fielder-Civil, currently serving time for assault and obstructing justice after brawling with a pub manager and then offering him $400,000 to keep quiet; her uneven concert appearances, which have included drunken behavior and fan assault; her battles with various authorities, ranging from the American Embassy in London (which denied her a visa to travel to the U.S. to perform at the Grammys) to her father.

Which leaves the question of what's next for Winehouse -- who is just 24 (she turns 25 in September) -- forever up in the air.

In June, she was rushed to the hospital after fainting; her father, Mitch Winehouse, told reporters that cigarettes and crack have jeopardized her lungs. On Monday she was back in the hospital, this time for an adverse reaction to medication.

She's forever working on new material, Mitch Winehouse told the Times of London. "Amy can be creative when most other people would be checking into a hospice. When she can hardly stand up, she's got her books in front of her, scribbling away," he said.

But, he added, "She only writes songs from her personal experiences, and they're all more or less painful. It's a shame. But that's the way she is."

The Winehouse family was always into music. A number of her mother's relatives were jazz musicians, according to Allmusic.com, and Amy grew up listening to Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald and Dinah Washington.

But it was also a clan riven by divorce, with Winehouse's parents splitting when she was 9.

In her teens she formed a duo based on the American R&B act Salt 'n' Pepa; it was called Sweet and Sour. Later, an expulsion from a London drama school turned into a break when a musician schoolmate gave her demo tape to a music business executive. Winehouse was eventually signed to Island Records, for whom she put out "Frank."

Once Winehouse started establishing her wild-child reputation, the tabloids jumped on her story and never let go. They trumpeted her missed concerts, shaky performances, weight loss, shambling manner. One set of photos, in 2007, showed her bloodied after an apparent argument with Fielder-Civil; another, from a raw-looking video, showed her apparently smoking crack.

She has a love-hate relationship with the paparazzi, Rolling Stone reported earlier this month, and the photographers appear to have equally mixed feelings: "She's on loads of crack, but you can see through that," Simon Gross, a freelance photographer, told the magazine. For all that, the talent continues to shine through. Amy Winehouse’s incarcerated husband Blake Fielder-Civil received some bad news about his legal standings…a break from the barrage of bad news that we’re sure he’s been hearing about Amy Winehouse’s medical condition…although something tells us that Blake isn’t exactly the picture of perfect health himself.

The legal blow came on Wednesday, when a British court handling Fielder-Civil’s case acquitted a former pub manager of taking a bribe in order to hush up charges of assault against Fielder-Civil.

According to reports, a jury spent three long hours deciding whether or not the pub-owner, James King, was guilty of the British equivalent of obstruction of justice- before ultimately deciding that he was not, and reaching a verdict of not guilty. The not guilty verdict could ultimately work against Fielder-Civil when he is sentenced in the case against him.

In 2006, Blake Fielder-Civil, along with several of his friends broke King’s cheekbone in a fight. Following that charming incident, Fielder-Civil and his cronies bribed the bartender with $400,000 in order to stay quiet about the incident during official investigations.

Fielder-Civil was arrested in 2007 and has remained in prison ever since. King later claimed that he was intimidated into withdrawing his assault claim against the group of men who had hurt him.

Amy Winehouse’s husband, as well as three other men, has already admitted to the fight, as well to offering the bribe.

Blake Fielder-Civil as well as the other men are due to be sentenced next month. Fielder-Civil has often been accused, especially by Amy Winehouse’s parents, of being heavily responsible for their daughter’s addictions to hard drugs, which they claim that Blake Fielder-Civil got her into.
We can’t help but feel that the longer Blake stays away from her, the longer Amy Winehouse has at least a fighting chance of actually kicking the drug habit. We have no idea however, how to get her to quit the cigarettes…

Amy Winehouse will make a surprise appearance at the BRIT Awards in London tomorrow (February 20th), organisers have confirmed.

The performance will be the singer’s first appearance on British television since she left a London rehab clinic two weeks ago.

"I heard her rehearse last night and she sounded absolutely great," Ged Doherty, chairman of the BRIT Awards, told Sky News.

"We are just thrilled to have her appearing at the ceremony. At times it has been a difficult year for Amy but what has never been in doubt is that she is a real talent.”

Doherty said that he believes Winehouse’s performance will be one of those “BRIT ‘moments’”.

Despite her ongoing troubles, Winehouse picked up four Grammy Awards, including the prestigious Song Of The Year, last week.

Although she was not able to attend the ceremony in Los Angeles, Winehouse accepted the awards via a live video link from London.

Singer Amy Winehouse has friends exceedingly worried after being found stumbling barefoot in the street in the middle of the night in just a bra and jeans.

Winehouse was partying earlier in the evening at a pal’s house but after guests left, the 24-year-old singer was found mumbling to herself in Bow, East London at 5.40am.
Pals, who are already worried for her safety, were horrified to see her in such a condition.

Sources revealed that Amy didn’t seem to be in the ‘right state of mind’.

“Amy came out and started stumbling around. She popped her head over the fence like she was looking for something. It was freezing and she had no shoes and just a red bra. Imprisonment has reportedly helped Amy Winehouse’s husband Blake Fielder-Civil see his wife more clearly and he has urged her to beat her long-standing eating disorder or it will kill her.

Amy has previously admitted having problems with bulimia but despite her currently skinny physique, now insists it is all behind her. However, when she visited husband Blake in Pentonville prison on Wednesday, her husband of six months is said to have thought differently.
The News of the World quotes Blake as telling Amy: “I’m really concerned about you. You are far too thin.”

“For the first time in months I’ve been eating three square meals a day. I feel so much better. But you are taking drugs, not eating and now you are fainting.”

Amy Winehouse has reportedly had a meeting at the American Embassy in London in a bid to secure a new US work visa so she can continue to pursue her career over there.

Winehouse's people are concerned she may not secure a new visa because of that recent drugs arrest in Norway - US visa officials getting all nervous when you've a drugs arrest on your record. But Amy now claims that an apparent confession she made to Norwgian police after that arrest is not valid, and that she signed it by mistake. Possibly because she was off her face on drugs at the time, we're not sure.

It's not clear if Winehouse is using that argument in a bid to get a visa, or indeed if that was actually why she was at the American Embassy at all - there's a lot of speculation going on here. Chief speculator is Sky News producer Nickie Omer who saw Winehouse arrive at the Embassy. She told reporters: "She looked totally different. She looked really well groomed. Her hair was combed, she'd got a black pencil skirt on and gold high heels. She actually looked healthy for once". Ah, I knew it, the drunken ditzy diva look was just an act.

Amy Winehouse Wins Award, Boozes Uncontrollably

In some weird twisted way, Amy Winehouse is proud of her drinking problem. At least, she sure isn’t trying to hide it. And at a recent awards show, her list of dressing room demands was more like a frat party schematic.

At the MOBO Awards, the Rehab singer had a grocery list of booze delivered to her greenroom. She requested two bottles of Rioja, two cases of Heineken, a large bottle of premium vodka, two bottles of bubbly, and two bottles of Jack Daniels.

After the backstage drinking binge, Winehouse managed to make it out to the audience area in order to accept her award. She won the “Best Female UK Artist” award, and accepted it graciously.

Speaking of awards, Amy is also up for a couple MTV Europe Music Awards. Singer is limited to strict budget

Amy Winehouse's mother Janis is so worried about her daughter's future that she's keeping tight control of her finances. She gives the troubled singer a weekly budget of £300 to spend - and hopes she can get her life back together after her drug overdose last month. 'She's lost herself,' says Janis. 'I knew she was smoking marijuana but not that she was doing class A drugs.' Amy, 24 tomorrow, and husband Blake Fielder-Civil recently returned from a holiday in St Lucia and are reported to be trying for a baby. 'I didn't think they'd actually get married,' Janis, 52, tells First. 'But Amy is loyal. If Blake is her choice I have to respect it.'

Amy Winehouse 'bruised and bloodied'

Concern is growing for singer Amy Winehouse after she was pictured looking bloodied and bruised following an incident involving her husband.

Police were called to London's Sanderson Hotel in the early hours of yesterday morning, but the singer refused to press charges.

Winehouse reportedly fled the hotel at 3.30am chased by husband Blake Fielder-Civil and flagged down a stranger's car. But the couple were reunited hours later and were pictured together arm in arm. Shocking images show Winehouse wearing blood-soaked ballet shoes, with bruises to her neck, bandages on her arms and make-up smeared down her face.
Fielder-Civil had livid scratches covering his face and neck.
Police confirmed they had attended an incident but no charges would be brought.
A Scotland Yard spokesman said: "Following a third party report to police regarding suspected injuries to a woman in her 20s, police officers spoke with the woman and no criminal offences have been alleged.

The couple have been staying in the £200-a-night five star hotel since leaving an Essex rehab clinic.
One witness who saw Winehouse fleeing down Regent Street pursued by Fielder-Civil said: "She was 200 yards in front. He was yelling her name. The road got to a bend and she ran round it."
Winehouse then flagged down the car and jumped in. The onlooker said: "When the car got to Charing Cross, Amy ran to a newsagents for cigarettes. You could see she'd been in a fight.
"Her clothes were bloody and she was covered in scratches."
An hour later, the couple met up in Soho and walked back to the hotel.
Winehouse's family and friends are said to be deeply concerned for her welfare and her father, Mitch, has visited the hotel.
It is the latest episode in the singer's troubled life. She was hospitalised earlier this month after a reported overdose and earlier this week pulled out of the V Festival,later cancelling all of her touring commitments for August.

Amy Winehouse is to appear on the front cover of American Vogue.
The Rehab singer was chosen by the fashion bible's editor Anna Wintour to grace the cover after Wintour fell in love with Amy's album Back to Black.
An insider told Britain's Daily Mirror newspaper: "An order from Anna Wintour is like a royal command and the order was 'get me Amy'.
"Anna loved Amy's album so much that she just had to have her. But at the end of the day, it's not just about her music, it's about her rawness, her unique style and her outspokenness. She's very much a one-off - but incredibly talented with it."
The pictures were taken by world-renowned photographer Bruce Weber and Amy will be the magazine's cover girl for the September issue, traditionally the best-selling copy of the year.
A source added to Britain's Daily Mirror newspaper: "Wintour was instantly delighted with the outcome and thought Amy oozed cool."
Meanwhile, Amy wants to open a beauty salon when she decides to take a break from music.
The 23-year-old star has experience in the field, because her late grandmother taught her everything she knows.
She said: "I'd love to have a beauty salon! My nan, God rest her soul, pretty much trained me and my brother."
"He'd give her a pedicure and I'd do her nails and her hair."

It's the Arctic Monkeys versus Amy Winehouse in the battle for this year's Nationwide Mercury Prize.
The 12 albums in the running for the £20,000 prize were unveiled today.
Sheffield band Arctic Monkeys could become the first act to scoop the award twice - and in consecutive years.
They won last year with their debut album Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not.
This year they are contenders with their follow-up, Favourite Worst Nightmare.
Winehouse is nominated for the second time for her album Back To Black.
Bookmaker William Hill immediately installed Winehouse and Arctic Monkeys as joint 4/1 favourites.
Dizzee Rascal, who won the prize in 2003 with debut Boy In Da Corner, is nominated again this year for Maths And English.
Other contenders include The View, Klaxons, Bat For Lashes and Jamie T.

The prize is open to British and Irish acts who have released an album in the past year and covers all genres of music.
Last year the Mercury judges surprised many by going for the "people's choice" in Arctic Monkeys.
Industry experts predict the judges may revert to type by choosing a more obscure act this time.
HMV's Gennaro Castaldo said: "It will be interesting to see if the judges are prepared to open themselves to potential accusations that they are going too mainstream by voting for the Arctics for a second year in a row or by selecting Amy Winehouse - both of whom have enjoyed massive commercial success - or whether they deliberately go for a less obvious choice in order to show that they remain unpredictable and independently minded.
"You'd have to say this is a fairly well-balanced list, which reflects the diversity and vitality of the British and Irish music scenes right now.
"The current dominance of indie rock and pop is again acknowledged while, as usual, more left-field offerings that represent the underlying spirit of the awards are also recognised."
Inclusion on the shortlist means a sales boost for the lesser-known nominees.
"The publicity that will be generated from now through to the awards ceremony in September will ensure that all the nominated artists get a lift in albums sales from here on in," Mr Castaldo said.
"The more established acts will get another boost to add to their recent festival performances, while the lesser-known nominees now have the platform to introduce themselves to a new and wider audience.
"Whoever wins can expect a significant boost to their careers. Previous winners such as Ms Dynamite in 2003 and Antony And The Johnsons in 2005 recorded five-fold increases in sales of their nominated albums.
